FILE YOUR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE HARTVILLE GROUP/ASPCA PETSHEALTH CARE INSURANCE………..

September 8, 2010

The Hartville Group, Inc. who is the administrator for the ASPCA Petshealth Care Insurance  says the following >>

We’ve partnered with organizations to help us provide pet insurance coverage that exceeds industry standards.

ASPCA Strategic PartnerThe American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is the most recognized of all US humane organizations, built on over 140 years of alleviating pain, fear, and suffering in animals. No other group has earned the respect, recognition, and reputation for promoting animal welfare as the ASPCA.

NAPHIAThe North American Pet Health Insurance Association (NAPHIA) is committed to educating North American pet parents, the general public, and the veterinary community about the value and benefits of pet insurance. Members work together to set high standards for the pet insurance industry.

I urge all who have complaints about the Hartville Group, Inc. and their Abominable and Disgusting  handling of their Claims in Bad Faith, to notify the above organizations.

The only problem is that they are all may be in bed together, so to speak, and our complaints may fall on deaf ears, BUT if WE complain enough, WE can make a difference, and stand up for OUR Beloved Pets, and change the Wrong that has been committed by this Disgusting Pet Insurance Company…….The ASPCA and Hartville Group, Inc. are Definitely in Bed together, as determined by the bias email responses towards the Hartville Group, Inc. I received from the ASPCA, regarding my complaints and concerns. I can only hope that NAPHIA is unbiased in the handling of our complaints and concerns. Although, I am still awaiting their response to my Email I sent a couple of days ago………………………..

UPDATE: Dennis Rushovich, the CEO of The Hartville Group, Inc. is a Founding member of NAPHIA!!

Get those complaints in though, and don’t be Discouraged because of this Conflict of Interest. We can, and WE will make a difference.

The Pieces of the Puzzle are finally falling into place, regarding the Despicable and the Abominable handling of our Claims in Bad Faith, on the Part of this Outrageous Pet Insurance Company!!!!!!!!!!!! More the reason NOT to Purchase this Pet Insurance, and for ALL Existing Policy Holders of this Abominable Pet Insurance to CANCEL their Policies. But make sure to purchase another Policy from a Reputable Pet Insurance Company where you will be treated in Good Faith, unlike the Treatment WE and OUR LOVED ONES receive from the Crooks  at The Hartford Group, Inc. before you Cancel your policy. WE want to have our beloved Pets covered at all times.

If your complaints fall on Deaf Ears, or if you do not get a response, File a Complaint with your Home State Insurance Department. Even though the Hartville Group, Inc. is located in Canton, Ohio, you need to file a Complaint in your Home State.

In addition, I urge ALL to file a Complaint to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) in Canton, Ohio, the Home State of the Hartville Group, Inc.

File Now, send the Email, Make that Call, so WE can make a Difference, and shed the Light on the Bad Faith handling of OUR Claims, and change the way this Pet Insurance Company does Business. They have been hiding behind the ASPCA name, and the ASPCA has been slow to react, or not react at all, because they have a Cash Cow with the Hartville Group, Inc. because they receive a 10% Kick Back on all Premiums collected.

LET’S MAKE A DIFFERENCE, SO WE DON’T GET SCREWED ANYMORE. IN ADDITION, CANCEL ALL EXISTING POLICIES, AS THAT MAY BE THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. HIT THEM WHERE IT HURTS, IN THEIR WALLETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Btw, there are many other Pet Insurance Companies that handle their Claims in Good Faith, unlike the Hartville Group, Inc. Such as Trupanion, VPI, PetsBest, etc. While these companies have their pros and cons, and I urge ALL to investigate for themselves, NONE of these other Pet Insurance Companies have as Many Complaints as the ASPCA Petshealth Care Insurance/Hartville Group, Inc. does, not by a LongShot.

WARNING: BEWARE OF ASPCA HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN FOR YOUR PETS!!!

August 22, 2010

ASPCA Petshealth Plan Care Insurance is one of the Worst Pet Insurance Plan you can ever have to Cover your Beloved Pets!!!

I just read their Website and saw this >>

‘Like most pet insurance, our base protection limits coverage for long-term or chronic conditions to keep premiums lower. However, you can get extra protection for what we call ongoing conditions with our inexpensive Continuing Care coverage option.’

This is Absolutely False!! VPI, Trupanion, Pets Best, etc. DO NOT HAVE THIS LIMITATION!! In addition, this Continuing Coverage Add-On will cost you Hundreds of dollars more, in addition to your Base Premium, over the years, BUT it will only add $1000-$1500 more Coverage over the Lifetime of your Beloved Pet. This additional coverage, while better than nothing, in most cases, won’t even be enough coverage for your Beloved. Anyway, why would anyone pay for this Additional Minimal Coverage, while with other Companies, you would be Covered under the Base Premium Coverage. This is Ludicrous, and it is a Wonder that Anyone would even Purchase a Policy like the one from the ASPCA, for themselves and their Pets. The ASPCA does great work regarding Animals, BUT their Petshealth Care Insurance Plans are a DISGRACE, and do much to Tarnish the Name of the ASPCA………….

ASPCA Petshealth Plan Insurance Plans seems to have updated the look of their Website, BUT The Message is still the same. They DO NOT cover your Pet for when they need Coverage the Most.

In addition, they have a 180 Day Pre-Existing Clause, which is also applicable UPON RENEWAL, in their Policy. This could be a possible Death Sentence for your pet, unless you can dig into your pockets to find the needed cash to continue coverage. But wait, I thought that is what Pet Insurance is for????? But ASPCA doesn’t think so…. For example………..Your beloved Dog suffers a broken leg from an accident, on May 31, BUT your Renewal Period starts on June 1, Guess what, The ASPCA Petshealth Insurance you paid for, WILL NOT COVER YOUR BELOVED DOG, BECAUSE THEY CALL THIS A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION UPON RENEWAL!!!!

ASPCA Petshealth Plan Care Insurance says that All other Companies do the Same Thing?? BULLSHIT!!!!!

Warning: Stay as far away from ASPCA Petshealth Care Plan Insurance as you can. Pick a Company that does not have this 180 Day Pre-Existing Clause in their Policy, Which is Applicable to ANY Renewal Period!! It won’t be hard to do, Because NONE of the other Pet insurance Companies have this Exception written into their Policies…..

DO NOT PURCHASE THE ASPCA PETS HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY!!!!!

February 8, 2010

I HIGHLY Recommend purchasing a Health Insurance Policy for your Pet, BUT DO NOT PURCHASE THE INSURANCE POLICY THAT THE ASPCA OFFERS WHICH IS CALLED PETS HEALTH INSURANCE!!!

The reason is due to their 180 Day Clause, which is one of the most Disgusting Clauses ever to be drawn up in an Insurance Policy, Pet or Human!!!!

Below is an Exerpt which I C&P, which explains this Clause Very Thoroughly and what it means for You and Your Beloved Pet >>>

“I WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT A SERIOUS AND UNCONSCIONABLE FLAW IN THE ASPCA PET HEALTH INSURANCE PLANS With ASPCA, you renew your plan on a yearly basis. This  yearly renewal is inconvenient but not, in itself, a problem. Here’s the very serious problem.

ANY CONDITION THAT EXISTED DURING THE PRIOR PLAN PERIOD IS CONSIDERED A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION!

THE ABOVE APPLIES TO NOT JUST NEW POLICIES BUT POLICY RENEWALS!!!!!!

What are the implications? Consider the following situation:
* Your dog is diagnosed with a serious cancer on a Monday and you schedule your dog for costly, major surgery on Thursday.
* You submit the ASPCA insurance claim on Tuesday.
* Your ASPCA plan is set for renewal on Wednesday.
* Your dog undergoes surgery on Thursday.
* You submit the ASPCA insurance claim for the surgery on Friday.

Guess what? YOUR CLAIM WILL BE DENIED!

Please let this sink in.

ANY CONDITION, NO MATTER HOW SERIOUS, THAT EXISTED EVEN 1 DAY PRIOR TO RENEWAL WILL NOT BE COVERED. This also implies that any condition that lasts, in any form, more than a year, will not be covered for the condition’s duration.

I talked to a customer service supervisor about this (their customer service is generally very good, BTW) and they acknowledged that it’s a real problem, citing examples of major, heartbreaking claims that were not covered because they spanned the renewal date.

What ASPCA will tell you is that they have a plan, the Sterling Plan, that covers “long-term” conditions (now remember, according to the example above, LONG TERM COULD ACTUALLY BE 4 DAYS). What they won’t emphasize is the following:
* The Sterling Plan is by far their most expensive plan. It is almost 50% more than their next most expensive plan, the Premier Plan, which is what I have.
* The Sterling Plan has a maximum PER INCIDENT (NOT per visit) benefit of $2500, which is HALF of the maximum incident benefit for the Premier Plan. This means that any condition, NO MATTER HOW SERIOUS, will not be covered past $2500. So, if you thought you could sign up for the Sterling Plan to deal with a catastrophic care situation—think again: $2,500 doesn’t go very far when it comes to things like cancer.”

DO NOT PURCHASE A POLICY FROM THE ASPCA!!! FOR YOUR BELOVED PET!!!!!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VPI PET INSURANCE AS THEY DO NOT HAVE THE SADISTIC 180 DAY EXCEPTION CLAUSE!!!!
